Younger people are growing up with Social Media and using it to their advantage. Most young people use Facebook  and maybe Twitter but it is not exclusively for the younger generation. With the older population increasing due to scientific and medical advances there are more and more of them engaging in the on-line community. Many of the older generation are quiet tech minded and now senior related social media sites are increasing. Seniors have to face a lot of challenges such as financial planning for retirement, health care and housing needs. They are increasingly using the internet to help them face these challenges.
